Mercury Drug Stays Strong in its 75th Year
Mercury Drug, the largest drug store chain in the Philippines, remained strong through the COVID-19 crisis and continued to open stores and remain open to better serve the country.
The drug store giant opened its 1201st store in Bel Air, Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines, during its diamond anniversary celebration last March, 2020 and stores stayed open during the quarantine periods to deliver much needed medicines and health supplements to Filipnos nationwide.
Anti-COVID-19 measures were used such as plastic screens and free hand sanitizers stations at the pharmacy counters, social distancing markers on the floors, and temperature checks and disinfection mats at the doors.
The number of customers in the store were also limited to allow customers to avoid each other and stay apart.
Store hours were shortened to limit contact while stores strategically located near hospitals stayed open 24/7.
Meanwhile, anti-COVID-19 safety reminders and health supplements aired continuously on the Mercury Drug Radio program airing in all the self-service stores across the country.
Earlier in the year, Mercury Drug received the Gold Award in the Pharmacy Category at the renowned Reader’s Digest Quality Service Awards held at the classy Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Metro Manila. Philippines.
The award was further proof of Mercury Drug’s strong commitment to make sure that Filipinos all over the country have access to quality service, medicines, supplements, and basic household items no matter the circumstance.
